Mamba Max calibration problems
Ok. I just finished installing a MM 4600 system in my rustler with a 7-cell nimh intellect batt. when I turn it on to calibrate all the lights flash a couple times then the red light flashes, then i go to full brake and the green light flashes, then I go to neuteral, then all the lights flash, couple chimes, then the red light just keeps flashing and beeping. it wont respond to throttle. its sunday so i havent had a chance to call support yet. any ideas? tnx
EDIT: ok, i just tried it again. now once it starts flashing the green light, thats all it does, no response. |
Reverse your throttle channel, that usually allows you to program the esc correctly. Some radios need normal and some reverse. I know futaba needs to be set reversed to work with most escs.

I tried that. I tried reversing it, I adjusted the throttle trim all over the place and still nothing.

Ok, now its doin somethin different again. i go full forward and turn it on, all lights flash +chime. the red light blinks, i go full reverse, the green light blinks, i let off, all lights go off, then all lights blink +chime then the yellow light stays on. it works now, but im concerned 1) because of all the wierd shit it did initially, and 2) becuase it didnt calibrate the way it said in the book with the red light on, then the yellow light on. instead, the red light blinked then the green light blinked.

Sounds like you went into program mode the first time.

Ok, i just went and drove it. for some reason its just not as fast as it should be. its doin maybe 30mph tops. it'll wheely but only from a dead stop. and for some reason, for it to work right, my throttle trim has to be turned all the way to full throttle. its also not starting off smoothly and acts up more as it gets further away but i think thats because my reciever antenna wasnt up high enough (i lost the tube).

check wires

30 mph for a 4600 on 7 cells is about right, what is your gearing/what vehicle
|
oh really? its a rustler. 19/84 with 1/8 buggy tires.
actually I found the problem. I routed the wires from the esc to the receiver in front of the battery which actually cut the wires so its working fine now. I installed the system in my b4 buggy, now its fast as hell. it'll probly do 40 if i gear it right. Then 5 minutes into my first run with it I went into some kinda tall grass at speed and snapped the left a-arm off the front bulkhead . thnx for the help guys |
