Building an FLM Electric Pede ???'s

I plan on buying most if not all of the FLM electric Pede parts at the end of this month and just have a couple of questions.

The first question is what is the main advantage/disadvantage of the standard vs. extended length arms? Is there any reason NOT to go with the extended arms for more stability like CVD/turnbuckle/stock drive shaft problems?

The second question is I was wondering if I should keep the stock plastic chassis braces or put a Swami wheelie bar on the rear and a New Era brace on the front.

The last question is what hardware is included with the FLM extended chassis kit and what hardware will I need to purchase seperately (which stock parts will I not be able to transfrer over if any)? I know this is a lot of questions, just want to get everything lined up so I can spend more time running and less time wrenching :D

Well, searching through the FLM section of the forum I found part of my answers. It appears that the FLM parts include most of required hardware (turnbuckles, pins, bolts, etc.) Hopefully someone can answer my other questions.

Extended arms get you more stability. However you can only use stock sliders with the extended arms.

Keeping the plastic is up to you. If it were me and had the money I would get the Swami var and New era brace to match the theme.

I like the regular length arms myself, and use the stock sliders with steel tranny oudrives. FLM is supposed to make some aluminum chassis braces to match the chassis as well. They have also considered a wheelie bar.

Also, I am not sure the New Era braces would work, due to the slightly different fit of the FLM chassis. The stock plastic braces are flexxed into place, which would not be a good idea with an aluminum chassis brace.

mike, can you get those fma ladder bars for the pede?

They are already listed in the store-just no picture yet. :)

thanks mike. i just got my flm super stampede kit along with the tranny and knuckles. i liked it so much that i ordered another setup today. i guess i will need to order 2 sets of the ladder bars. btw, my kit didn't come with the bulkhead brace. is that still included or was that a misprint?

It must be a misprint. I don't know of any bulkhead brace for the pede/rustler kits.
