mamba 25 on 4s?

will it work?

nitrorube 02.11.2008 11:45 PM

i dont think so,i had a mini t with a mamba 25 and with a 3cell it would get hot, just my opinion but im going to guess no

BL_RV0 02.11.2008 11:46 PM

not going to use that motor, just the esc.

johnrobholmes 02.12.2008 12:00 AM

Sure it will work, until you get a motor that is too hot. What motor, what setup?

BL_RV0 02.12.2008 12:01 AM

hacker 3700kv motor. gearing undecided. want about 30-35mph, be going in a kyosho half eight.

rschoi_75 02.12.2008 12:02 AM

what mini?

BL_RV0 02.12.2008 12:03 AM

kyosho mini inferno, its 1/16 4wd buggy

rschoi_75 02.12.2008 12:21 AM

oh... I can't believe I didn't see it the first time.

anyways, even 30-35 is no problem with the 3700kv. you can do that on 3s with mild gearing. On 4s, you're going to be in the 40 mph range with normal gearing.

I run the same motor on 2s & 3s in a M18T. I'm geared at 14/54 right now, and I'm guessing low 20's on 2s and low 30's on 3s. These are perfect numbers for mini racing... unless you're on a 1/10th scale track.

johnrobholmes 02.12.2008 11:37 AM

I would keep with 3s honestly. In anything but a tiny 1/18th you will be pushing it really hard on 4s. If you want 4s you should step up to a larger ESC, the m25 just gets hot on that high of a voltage.

lincpimp 02.12.2008 12:06 PM

4s may be too much for the internal bec, so 3s may be a better choice. Unless you want to run a ccbec, but that seems overkill in a 1/16 buggy. Unless you have the batteries laying around. That hacker motor is nice, I had one in a minit for a while and ran on 3s!

BL_RV0 02.12.2008 08:43 PM

well any esc suggestions then? quark 65 perhaps?

BL_RV0 02.12.2008 08:46 PM

decided on the quark 33a.

Good choice, it is an excellent esc. I have run way more than 33 amps thru mine and it did not skip a beat!

MTBikerTim 02.12.2008 09:12 PM

My quark stutters on 2s in a mini t. I can't figure it out. I thought it was just a bad quality battery. I now have a better lipo in it and it still stutters.

lincpimp 02.12.2008 10:20 PM

Do you have dirty or loose motor to esc connectors? Try hard wiring and see if that helps. Or maybe your deans connector is dirty?
