New E-maxx tranny
Is it true that the new tranny won't match up with the mounting holes for the original tranny? Any thing to solve this? I just tried putting the traxxas single motor plate on an original tranny and that doesn't work either, mounting holes are WAY off. Is it possible to make a hybrid tranny? Or should I just get the goriila maxx single plate? I wanted to have the dust cover on as well for a cleaner look, a cleaner chassis, and no rocks or dirt destroying my gears. Any help is appreciated.

For the single plate, it should be a direct fit, are you using the correct half case? You want to use the one without the shifting hole. From my understanding, the new tranny is the same case, just different gears, could be wrong on that though.

Just got the parts for a new E-maxx tranny to build myself off Towerhobbies for $48 without the plate and spur gear for the 'ol revo. A steal! Anyways, The new transmission has a different case, and the gears hav been upgraded to a steel input gear, a steel idler, and finally a plastic output. Yes, I have seen it on another thread that the old transmission mounting pattern hand the holes spaced wide, but the new has 'em space longer and thinner.

my half case does have a hole for the shifter but when matching up the 2 plates the holes are way off. Is there any way to adapt the new tranny to the old chassis mounting holes?
