Flightpower charging cable???

hi guys.
So i buy a new FlightPower EVO25 battery, (4S 3700mah) from a guy online. It was a good price so i was happy despite the mediocre capacity.
Anyway, It's balance charge plug is their own thing, different to my other Batts all of which use the Align plugs.

i knew this and didn't think I'd have a problem changing plugs around, but I'm a bit freaked. The 4S battery has 6 Cables running out to the plug. WTH ?

One Black and Five Reds. What's what with this system? Without knowing which taps are where i can't charge it........

Thanks for any help

Marcus

I have a feeling that 4 of the wires are +, and the black wire plus the red one next to it are both -, but it is only a hunch based on some funny balancing adaptors I have seen...

marcus the FP pack is the same plug as a thunder power plug.

Yes, flightpower and thunderpower use the same tap. It is a bit strange, but I think two of the wires go to the same area in the pack. I have a v balancer and need to adapt it to work with my hyperion style taps. I may just leave it alone, since I will be purchasing some flightpower packs soon!

Flightpower's website has all manner of connectors for the v balancer, some may work to adapt their packs to other balancers.

James all i did to get my FP pack to balance charge on my hyperion 5idp & lba 6 ( the one you got from me ) balancer, was buy a thunder power to hyperion adapter from maxamps. You got that adapter when you bought my charger.

Ok, so I need the adapter the oter way around. Need to go from the fp balancer to a hyperion tap on a battery.

I just picked up all the different balancer cables for my charger the other day. What charger/balancer do you have. I'd say use a multimeter on the balancing tabs and you will soon see what all the wires are connected too. Just make sure you multimeter is set up for voltage not current. Made that mistake the other day. Thankfully it wasn't on a lipo :gasp:.

lol, yeah, that was probably scary. However, most meters have fuses that pop around 10-20A in case someone makes a mistake like you did, which is quite a bit lower than the C rating of just about all but the smaller packs.
