wierd motor problem
my pinion is not slipping on the shaft but the motor will rev up and nothing happens. could the shaft inside the motor be broken . this is wierd. it will go slow but I can hold the pinion gear an rev up the motor.
the set screw is on the flat and there is no signs of damage . |
What motor are you using?
Sounds like a thrown shaft. That's when the shaft gets loose from the magnet. If it's a Lehner, you might fix it yourself. Even if it's a Feigao it should be possible, but they are harder to open. |
i just may go over to mikes house and show it to him. he has the jig to unscrew it and I can just do a "trade in" for a new one.
waiting to see if he is home and available. wow that sounded just wrong.LOL! |
Wow, you live near Mike!? Please give him a handshake from me!

Yeah, be sure to say Hi for me please! be sure not to fall over his RC collection.. I bet you won't be able to put your foot anywhere in his hobby room..
|
it's is/was a basic XL2800
hey if you guys want something to do I would love an explaination of all these different motor part numbers. http://www.rc-monster.com/products.php?cat=35 I was running 14 cells cause 12 didn't do it for me .but maybe the motor was slipping but compare with 12 cells top speed and torque and power band |
Sounds like the magnet came loose from the shaft..
|
is the screwed on endbell loctited?
how is the shaft secured to the magent? is this fixable? |
