quick Neu motor question
hey guys, I got a quick question for the neu owners.
Are your motors really loud at start up? Mine is extremely loud at start-up, but then gets quiet as the rpm's go up. At first I assumed it was just my mesh, since the noise comes from the pinion/spur area. But after checking it, I found it was fine. My buggy runs very smooth at both low and high speeds (powerful too!). Nothing is binding, warped, or loose, and everything runs fine. Its just very loud at the start. I'm thinking it may just be this way because of the strong magnets, but I'm open to suggestion. |
Are you running metal on metal gears? My E-Revo (with metal spur and pinion) does this same thing at low speeds, but sounds normal at higher speeds.

I have the same noise happen on my Jammin' at slow speeds as well. It sounds to me like it is a long beeping noise that slowly gets fainter as the car's speed progresses. I run a hardened pinion on a steel spur as well, so I think that may be the reason behind it.

What ESC you guys running?

MM on mine. and yes, i'm running a hardened metal pinion/spur combo on my jammin cr.
Its not the slow beep that feigaos give off. its closer to a very loud clicking. It happens only at the very start or at the very end when the car free rolls to a stop (no brake applied). The motor rolls freely when the rpms are high, then gets "stiffer" after falling below a certain rpm threshold. The sound comes from the friction between the pinion and spur when the motor "stiffens" up. That's why I was assuming its the magnets. Not sure if my reasoning is correct, so I wanted to get some opinions. |
