the power of a mega motor????

i'm up late and anxiously waiting to get this thing up and running. i had a kb45xl for my project, and it was a doa. i really wanted to get something fast for some racing this weekend and scored this acn 22/45/2 at the LHS for $140:yipi: lutach has said in another post that the smaller 22/30 series motor has more torque that an xl feigao motor. so how much power will i see from this guy? also i haven't seen much talk about the mega motors. how do they compair with higher end motors such as the neu, pett, lmt's, kontronic, ect?

here's a pic from left to right, kb45xl (DOA) mega 22/45/2, and feigao 10L.

i'm surprised of the power claim about these motors, especially for their small size. one thing i noticed is i can barely turn it over by hand. the lhs said something about some split magnet feature to prevent cogging. he's all about plains and heli's, but he said his guys are making alot of power with these motors.

Did he mean slotted rotors maybe? The dragracing bug has gotten you good.

i've had the bug for a while, just no place to unleash it. yes it does have slotted rotors, i'm not sure if thats what he ment. also he said they're kevlar coated.

I wonder what happened to the KB45? Have you ran any tests on it?

you're a wonderful person, just a day late:lol: i broke out the meter and tested the motor and i couldn't get any readings from any of the wires. i tested my other working kb and got a reading. so i started messing with it and long story short, the 4mm plugs weren't soldered worth a crap. the motor seems to be fine. i could have saved some money but all well, i got 2 new motors to play with now. i should have known to check that because i now remember soon after i started using my first kb motor it started cutting out and ended up being a bad solder job on one of the plugs. lessing learned and now i'm passing the word. redo the motor ends on kb motors. their solder falls apart and doesn't pass current well.
