Another CRT.5 conversion: 45mph

Today I finally ended my CRT.5 conversion.

I bought an upgraded brand new roller to strodedawg (thanks again Jim).

I added the electronics: and Road rage tires:
-Mamba Maxx ESc
-Feigao 380C 6L
-Hitec 5625MG servo-
-Hyperion 3800mA, 3s, 20C lipos.

I ran it today and was greatly surprised: wheelys on demand and a top speed of 45mph. The eagletree shows peaks of 99A and 966W during the speedruns. The RPM in the air 54000 and 46150 on road. The weight is 2300gr RTR and 12/46 gears. The tires are 2.2 Road rages on clawz wide wheelbase rims.

Here are some pics, hope you like it:

Looks awesome. Very clean setup. I never would have thought about the 380 6L as a good candidate for the crt.5, but it really does look like a well suited match. You are squeezing alot of power out of that motor for sure. How were the temps on it?

Nice job. Looks sweet.

Thanks jhautz!

I didn't get the infrared neither the eagletree gauges but after 10 minuts driving I could stand my fingers on the motor, so i think it was under 60ºC.
Here in Valencia was a sunny morning, with 20ºC

That is awesome! I hope my conversion project turns out with some great results like that. Do you have any issues with the rx on top of the servo and right next to the esc? I have heard that can cause some glitching....

Definately turned out really well, looks great.

Looks really good. I have not noticied any of my Fasst RXs having issues when next to servos. Maybe Am or FM would have issues. I actually just ripped my antenna in half and it still works perfectly. Digital is def the way to go.

I loved my 380C/6L in my rustler. I always thought 3S would have pushed it over the RPM limit, but the ET results are good to see that its ok. You can probably gear up a little bit as the temps allow. The motor pushed my heavy rustler to 48mph on 8 nimh, everyday gearing. I remember seeing a video a while back a guy doing 60 w/ that motor on 3S in a rystler. Geared way up obviously for the run, the that motor has great power.

I like the big bore shocks as well. Did you do that or did it come with? If so that was a nicely upgraded CRT you snagged.

It's working flawlessly, maybe because it's a 2,4GHz Rx.

What run time are you getting out of that motor and battery?

About 15 minutes of hard running with 3700mA 20C 3S hyperion lipos.
