Venom 4600 Batteries @ 170F

I run these 6 cell packs in series to power the E-Revo. After two C/D cycles, I can finally get 11-12 minutes of runtime. However after this last run, I pulled the batteries out and they were 171 and 161. I waited three minutes to get another temp and they both had risen 10 degrees (this was no surprise). Right now they are sitting in from of the window cooling off. This is bad, right? What do I do? Ironically, I actually notice the performance getting better, but the temps concern me.

My motor (Feigao 8XL) was: 115.7F
MM ESC: 73.9F
Stock gearing (38/15)
Duratrax Flashpoint temperature gauge.

Hmm, my cheapo 4300 packs always run those kinda temps after a 10-15 miunte run, but so far they seem to still be fine performance wise. If batts dont like the way they are being used, they usually vent, then you know its time for something a bit better....

Sounds good to me. Thanks for setting my mind at ease.

That's for sure. I have a 2S 6000 Maxamps, that although not nearly the same in *punch*, gives me great runtime and consistent power. I also have (had because I'm currently soaking it in salt water) a 4S that had more power than the two NiMh's in series. However, I was never able to get more than 30 seconds of runtime out of it.

That sucks about the 4s pack, give the trakpower packs a try (2 packs in series for 4s), they will outperform everything 4s that is available.
