Mamba Max with outrunners and Inrunner/outrunner hybrid motors

I tried to search any info but didnt find, i have 2 clear questions
1. Can MambaMax handle outrunners more than 4 poles motors? And how it handle? Heating more? cogging etc?
2. Anybody experinced Hybrid motors, that actualy outrunner but fitted to case and looks like inrunner http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5422
I want to use it in my low cost buggy. How it handle a heat and etc?
3. Can anybody recomment cheap alternative to feigao. up to $70-$80 that not heat so much?

1. Yes, and with the new updated Firmware/software it handles them great. Temps depend on how 'hot' the motors are & gearing as per normal.
2. Yep, several people on hear have tried them, but talk to Sike and Linc I think.
3. Not much in that price range really in the way of normal inrunners, but the KB45 motors are fairly good I think.

The align 600l and xl may be your best bet in the way of an hybrid outrunner. I have not tested the hybrid motors from united hobbies yet. They have a kv of around 1600 which is better suited to 5s lipo.

The MM is only good to 4s lipo, so you would want a motor around 2000kv. Feigao motors are the cheap alternative. If you want a cool running 4s setup for your buggy, go with an 8xl feigao and gear for mid 30s. That will stay cool.

I will wait for Sike to chime in and let you know what he thinks about outrunner and the MM. I am not sure if the latest firmware will allow for excellent outrunner performance, as I have not tested it myself. I know that the quark speed controls work well with the outrunners.

I remember reading in a thread "somewhere" that the newly updated firmware of the Mamba Max DOES in fact support outrunners very well. It is reported that startups are now how they should be, irregardless of the pole count.

I do intend to try this myself. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Its nice that Mamba Max support outrunners and for sure I use it on 4S.
Actualy i like outrunners like their torque and lower KV motors can be geared up a little bit and also they not consume much amperage.
Art1c please report how that Hybrid motor run and temps it would be nice
I have 2 feigaos 8XL with smooth can and 9XL with ribs. And 8XL barely holds normal temps up to 180F in my truggy 7min, with fan 8min not much gain from fan. Its nice to get 15min at least that 9XL actualy do with fan but again its depends i only race and temps on limit. 35-40mph is maximum that i nead so up to 1800-2000KV motors are fine on 4s.

I can confirm that the new MM firmware controls outrunners very well. I use them on more outrunners than inrunners actually. My favorite outrunner right now is a little 4400kv beast that powers my wheely King. 4s lipo didn't even kill it or get it past 220F.
