CEN Genesis / Nemesis wheel/tire info

Ok, so I decided to put the big Cen wheels/tires on my savage with the RCM tranny forward chassis. I took some pics with other tires, and weighed each one so that we have some sort of comparison.

Stock HPI wheel/tire combo from a savage ss kit (billed as lightweight): 214.6 grams

Maximizer beadlock wheel, with proline bowtie tire: 297.8 grams

40 series spoke wheel with road rage tire: 292.7 grams

Cen Nemesis white dish wheel with "bowtie" tread tire: 434.1 grams

So the Cen setup is twice as heavy as the stock hpi stuff! Nice to see that the hpi combo is considerably lighter than the others in the same size. Might be a good reace combo? or a least a lightweight tire.

Now for the pics:

And a few before and after shots on the savage. Power system will be an Aveox 1300 kv motor on 8s lipo thru a cc hv85 esc.

hi

i have to say it looks nice on such a long chassis. maybe the extended flm a-arms would look great too on this beast.
the heavy tires will be tough to the diffs though.

bye

Much better. I think with the FLM extended a-arms and the chassis maybe 1 inch longer, it would be absolutely perfect.

I wonder if the Cen GST tires/wheels that you have on the way will weigh as much as the Cen Nemesis tires/wheels?

434 grams = 15.3 ounces

I hope they are somewhat lighter than that.

I emailed the guy that you bought the lastest GST tires/wheels from. He told me they weigh right at 1/2 a pound each. I have a feeling he didn't actually weigh them though.

Wow, so when does it stop being 1/8th and become 1/7th or 1/6th? :P

the RC Pro series 1/10-1/8 MT class says max wheel base is 16". This kit puts the wheel base right at 15" so it could still be an inch longer and meet the class specs.

And dude!!! Those are some huge tires... and they weigh almost an entire ound each!!! Thats just a bit on the bulky side IMO. It will put alot of starin on the drivetrain. More than I would want to put anyway. I had the IMEX Jumbo claw dawgs for a while. They were right about a pound each also. I was trearing up difs like crazy with them on my emaxx. I finally ditched them and went back to normal sized tires. Then just ditched the emaxx all togheter in favor of the Savage.

Looks cool though. I'm intereted to hear how you like the once you get it finished and run it.

It should be interesting, I have a feeling that a steel spur will be necessay, does anyone make a 52t or bigger steel spur?

I think it will be alright, as it still has the 2 speed tranny, so first gear will be like it is geared for low 30mph, the aveox and 8s should be able to handle that. If not I can gear down some more and run 9s or 10s.

Not sure if the genesis wheels will be any lighter, they are just as big, and the tires look to be heavier due to the tread. We shall see.

Love those wheels. I want but I shouldn't get. I did get my chassis today so I get something to build when I get home this afternoon.

let's take a look at pic #2:yes:, you'll notice lincpimp is a valued customer at bed bath & beyond, he gets discount mailers sent to him, and unabashedly leaves them in his r/c pics. Perhaps lincpimp is a well moisturized and exfoliated member of the r/c community, is the wife just for appearances lincpimp?????:whistle:
