Brushless Emaxx or Revo?
 

I have the new 3905 emaxx and revo 3.3. I am for sure deciding on making a brushless truck. The new emaxx was advertised as brushless ready, but will the revo 3.3 handle it with the plastic gears? the new emaxx has harden steel. I don't know which to use brushless in. what would you do in my situation?

Have you ever done brushless before? If not go with the emaxx. It is easier to do as it is already setup for electric, and will also be cheaper.

In any case, after you convert one you will convert the other, it just works that way!

yeah, i have experienced brushless many times, its just that i never bothered to brushless my emaxx because i wanted torque. Now i see brushless has torque for the emaxx, i wouldn't mine. But also making the revo is some what easy, but i don't know if the gears can handle it.

Do you really want to give up the water resistance in the E-maxx for brushless power? I have a Gorillamaxx G2R revo chassis with a brushless setup and I love it, but as soon as I get my tax return I'm going to my lhs and buying the new e-maxx so I can play in the snow and water! Many people have had decent luck with the cheaper tekno conversion kit for the revo and if $ isn't super tight that would be my suggestion, if $ is a big issue I guess u can do the emaxx but remember that the revo handles much better at the higher speeds that the brushless will b capable of. If $ isn't so much of an issue or ur not in an extreme rush look into the gorillamaxx setup. Basically it all comes down to $ but I recomend keeping the emaxx for an all weather basher!

i never run my r/c's near water. sure i'll get the wheels wet when driving slow in a little puddle. I don't want to cause any rust anywhere on the truck. I know how the revo 3.3 handles, i'm talking about the transmission. Could it handle brushless power? the new emaxx is brushless ready.

Yes it can. Do the Revo for sure. Remember the new Emaxx was built based on the Revo.

I'd go with the Revo first.

You'll eventually end up doing the E-maxx anyway, like linc said.

I'm keeping my e-maxx stock and waterproof for the winter season, then I'll probably go brushless for the dry season.

My father in Law just got the new E-Maxx, and I really envy the water resistance. If you live in a dry area, that's no big deal. I know the trasmission is set up for brushless, but is it set up for the Velineon VXL system and can it handle higher output from a high voltage unsensored brushless system? I can't answer that one. Sounds like the water issue is not a concern for you, go with the E-Maxx. The new suspension handles really well.

The Revo tranny CAN handle BL power... after a couple of mods (mainly the gear pins).
