8XL vs 9XL?

Easy question. Set up: 12020/8XL, 14 cells, Strobe Slipper, stock diffs. The 8XL is having problems (the controller is has been serviced and is fine), so I need to replace the motor. Mike is out of 8 XL, but has the 9XL. Is there a significant difference between the two or should I wait until the 8XL is in stock? Thanks!

you will have do a small gear change to give you the same speed, might run a little cooler

Damon aside from running a shade bit slower the 9turn will be a little easier on amp draw and have a bit more torque , here is a Feigao 540 motor chart that will help you folks out

KV wise, the 9xl is close to the stock titans. But it has a boatload more torque and will allow you to step up the gearing to compensate for the move in turn. And as said, the setup will run a bit better and be easier on parts

What gearing do you all recommend? I have a 14,16,18 and 20 tooth pinion.
