Best body for a Gorilla chassis
 

I believe my chassis is a G2R, doesn't look exactly like the G3R. My question is what is the best body for the truck, what RC model should I buy a body for? I bought a crowd pleaser 2.0 for a revo and after it was all painted realized I needed one for a revo 3.3 for the length but that wouldn't help with the hight. The problem is that the bottom of the chassis and the batteries still are exposed and stick out like a sore thumb. I can live with this if I have to but would at least like to cover up some more of the batteries.

Try the Desert Rat by Pro-Line. I have one on my FLM EMaxx and it fits perfect. I also have a G3R chassis that I am building and I have positioned this body on it to test and see if it will fit okay...it does but you can still see the bottom of the gorilla chassis (ie., batteries are somewhat visible). It's not perfect, but better than many of the alternatives. Anybody else have any ideas?

2nd vote for the Desert Rat 3.3. Great looking body and it fits perfectly.

Thats a nice paint job! What's the difference between the desert rat and crowd pleaser bodies cause they look pretty much identical? Has proline released bodies for the new E-Maxx yet? They would have the extra length needed without the indents for motor and fuel tank cut outs. But above all else I'm mostly looking for something that will go down far enogh to cover up the batteries, cause other than that I like the look of the crowd pleaser. Originally the roller I bought came with a Hummer truck body and that had the same problem.

the dessert rat has a little wider fender flares than the crowdpleaser. it is very similar though. with the body posts all the way down it covers the battery tray.

Try this out. I run a GR2 with the Crowd Pleaser on it. I had to cut the body post down so the posts could go lower but it works great. You need to trim the front bumper up too. I could lower it more but I like the look I have and it protects the batteries just fine.:yipi:

I still have to say I like the crowd pleaser better, esspecially with my setup. With a Novak HV esc mounted on a G3R mount over the rear shocks the fan on it sticks up through the back and it's a nice flat surface to cut out. Also I have my body mounts to the lowest positions and I can't go any lower with the esc mounted in the rear, as I said the fan sticks up out, any lower and the whole esc would wind up exposed.

Watching a family member's house and dog right now so I don't have everything here with me but when I get the chance I'll see how the body from my new E-maxx lines up.

Also prolly not the best place to post this question but maybe I'll get better answers. I just bought the DX2.0 spektrum radio and haven't done anything with it, my debate now is if I should return it to my lhs and have them order me the DX3R. After opening the box and reading the manual I realized that this radio didn't have the newer technology that uses only 4 batteries instead of 8 and also that it oly has 2 model memories. I would like to eventually put all my cars on this radio not just 2. Any takes on this?

I just got the DX3R. I think its a great radio. Its very light and comfortable. All the features you could ever need. I'm actually switching to it from a M11 w/spektrum. I say go for the better radio. Bite the bullet now and you will be all set for a long time. 2 model memory is useless IMO. I have all of mine set up on the DX3R and still have room to add many many more.

My LHS loves me! I took back the DX2.0 I bought Saturday and had them order me a DX3R today. Nothing like dropping $950 in 2 days. But I know have 6 RC's and a killer radio on the way. My T-Maxx 2.5R is being sold to a friend and then I'll have some1 to bash with. I may even sell the Revo 3.3 now that I'm addicted to electric and specifically brushless!

can the DX3R display telemetry on the LCD screen (eg. temps and speed), like the Nomadio??

yes it can, requires the optional telemetry kit ( sensors)
