International Shipping?

I wanted to get a "5mm bore, mod1 pinion" but when I went to check out, the shipping cost was $25.14 to the Netherlands.

I tried to send an email to see if that was correct, but it was returned as "undeliverable".

It should be a good bit cheaper than that by using First Class Mail International. I'm sure Mike just has the site set up to calculate for Priority International or something like that.

Same thing for me, i leave in Canada, and the shipping fees of Mike is tooo much money for nothing.
I've send several mail to Mike about that but he tell me that's the cheaper way he can charge.
He tell me that if he use cheaper shipping method, we will not have tracking and insurance.
But i think that Mike should revise his shipping fees and give to the buyer the oportunity to choose between 2 or 3 different shipping method.

I know because i've nead only two 5mm mod1 pinion right now and i don't want to order it just because the shipping rate is way to high just for two little pinion.

I can order a complete RTR truck from A Main for the same shipping fees of two little pinion at RCM.

Please Mike, we all know that you have the exclusivity on alot of r/c part, but if you can revised your shipping, that's will be appreciated by lot of people here!!:yes:

Thank you!

David

I dont know about the international shipping rates here, but they do sell some of the RCM hard mod1 pinion gears. Worth a look anyway.

:party::party::party:Realy good that Impakt sell RCM stock. I've order alot from Impakt and the shipping rates is very very good.

Thank you very much for this link!

The only down side, they don't have the 20T pinion, stop at 19T:diablo:

This is true. If a package is sent outside the US by First Class Mail International, insurance is not offered on the package.

@longhair;

Perhaps I can help you out;

what are you looking for? hardened/non hardened? is it for a plastic or a metal spur? If I have got it in 'stock' you can simple pay Mike by Paypal (for the cost of the pinion only) and he can dump one in the box i've got coming. You'd only need to pay local shipping.

The reason why Mikes shipping rates are fair high for small parts is because USPS picks up the orders at the shop.

I did a search yesterday and found a gmail address (rcmonstermike@gmail.com) and sent an email to that hoping that it was correct - which it was.

Mike has straightened everything out - including my typo in the email :lol:

I didn't want to turn this into a bashing fest because of the shipping charges, I was just caught off guard.

jhautz - thanks for the link. There seems to be some interesting stuff on there.

Serum - thank you for offering to help me out. :smile:

It's not considered bashing; if shipping of a tiny part exceeds the material value that much I would have asked questions too..

Just let me know what it is you are looking for, perhaps I've got one wandering around..

I don't mean to add to the fire but I can order stuff from Hong Kong for a lot less in shipping then from RCM I also agree Mike should let people choose the shipping methods and agree to insurance of they want it. Last time I orderd stuff cost me also the same for the parts as it did for shipping to Canada.
I wanted to order the new Tekno Battery tray from RCM the shipping came to about $20 to Canada and Tekno only wanted $5 for shipping go figure.

RCM's default shipping quote is for USPS Express - because it has tracking and insurance. If your willing to wait a few weeks for it and don't care if it gets lost, email Mike and you can probably sort something out. He told me if I just needed a pinion or two to do this and he'd send it First Class (heaps cheaper - no protection) or priority (a little cheaper, takes longer, i think it has some protection and limited tracking too).

All those people saying 'i can get it shipped from x for sfa' have a look at the shipping method, if they even give you an express option you can be pretty sure the price won't be much different.

note everything i said is regarding international postage, because its all i ever seem to deal with :P

We used to offer lower cost shipping methods - the problem was everyone selected the lowest cost option, but if the package got lost, they simply dispute the charge through paypal or their credit card company. Even after some folks "accept the risk of a low cost shipping method", some have disputed their purchase. Since these low cost shipping methods don't offer tracking, we can't prove delivery and end up losing the goods and the money. We lost several thousand dollars in the first few years and changed our shipping methods to protect ourselves(we still get burned occasionally, but not on large orders, as they ONLY ship via Express or UPS). The USPS package pickup is free, Rene - this isn't a factor in the cost. They did raise the rates last year, but mostly it was always fairly expensive to ship via Express Mail. The packages can be tracked and delivery can be proven, which protects RC-Monster.
We often arrange smaller and far less expensive shipping methods for smaller orders with some email communication regarding the expectations. Cheap shipping is simply slower and less reliable. Great for the customer if the parts arrive, but bad for the business when they don't. :)
