G3 Race setup

For the racers out there. How do you setup your suspension? Caster? Camber? Wheelbase?

Thanks

There are a few options or things to consider when setting up your truck. Everyone will have there driving style and therefore some preferences. A short track will usually require more steering, so the shorter wheelbase may be the hot set-up. If there are not a lot of tight corners, go for the long wheelbase option, as it is easier to drave and will help the chassis absorb the bumps better. I typically set my camber to about -1 degrees (tires leaned slightly towards each other), while I run the lowest castor setting (more castor = less steering) I like my truck to have a lot of steering, though. If the steering feels twitchy, ad more castor. For the suspension/shocks, this may vary track to track, but you want to be able to absorb the bumps without bottoming out or upsetting the chassis. It is OK to bottom out from a big jump, so long as you don't bottom out all over the place. On a bumpy track, soften the suspension (lighter oil) to allow the suspension to act faster and absorb the bumps. I like my suspension arms to be about level to the ground on most tracks. If it is extremely bumpy, you may want to raise the suspesnion a little. On a smooth track, lower is better. Hope this helps!

That helps alot. My setup right now is still the stock arms (still waiting on the G3) and proline powerstroke shocks with 30wt oil. The powerstrokes to me is a good investment. you can adjust the stiffness of the springs adjusting the tension on the helper spring.
