My new TT01D
 

So here is my new project i just put together on Saturday. Awesome little car but... I already want to put a brushless system in it. This is my first onroad car so any recomendations? I will most likely use a MM controller but as far as motors what are my choices. Also i think the motor will have to have a 1/8 shaft because the spur is a 48p.

what do you use the slick tires for? carpet? or a certain type of assphault?

those tires wouldnt last on the regular street would they?

car looks nice though!

ive never been into the onroad scene but they always look really sweet.

The tires that came with the kit are Drift tires and they are a really hard compound and they seem like they would last forever. I will probably try drifting but mainly plan on driving asphault.

Would a Lehner Basic 4200 or Basic 4200XL work well in this car? Also do either of these motors have a standard 1/8th shaft, 4mm or 5mm?

You can get both with a 1/8 shaft or 4mm. I would say to run the sidewinder 5700 combo on 2s lipo. Plenty of power for that car. I have a pair of tt-01 chassis cars, and have run a variety of motors. The novak motors do well, as do the cc motors. I currently have a hacker 5s 540 motor on 3s lipo. Trying to break 90mph, best is 74 so far. The feigao 380c motors work well too.

Well i have a MM esc lying around so i'll probably use that. Why the 5700? Would the 6900 or 7700 be too insane with this car?

I am sure they would be ok on 2s. If you had one go for it, I would not buy one of those motors. Overpriced, IMO. Maybe a novak motor with the mm? I have a 5.5r that ios going in my xxx-cr with a sidewinder, so we will see if it works with the new firmware.
