anyone running mm 5700 in .5 crt?

i know its not the ideal motor for a .5 crt,but i can get one at a good price, anyone running a 5700 mm,and what problems are you getting like overheating, and what gearing are you running,i will be using a 2 cell, thanks for any help:intello:

The motor and ESC gets too warm from my experience, and that's with a 12T pinion, stock tires, and 2s lipo. If you do plan on running this setup, I would see about getting a smaller hardened pinion, like 11T.

And/or, add a heatsink to the motor and put a fan on the MM. As a rule, I never recommend fans, but in this case, I think it will be the only way to keep everything cool.

thanks brian,u the man, will a feiago 6 or 7l be that much cooler running, where i will not need a fan and can i run higher gearing in a 7l like a 15 or 18 tooth that i already purchased from monster mike

My crt.5 with CC MM 6900 roons very well, but it's 46 spur and 9t pinion :) with 2s 3700mah 20c lipo, very smooth and very well feelings.

I'm running the 5700 w a 12 pinion, 2s LiPo and Sidewinder. Motor, battery and esc never get hot, just warm to the touch and I get about twenty minutes. Thats on the track.

I guess it depends on what people's definition of "warm" is. I typically shoot for temps no higher than 50-60*F above ambient max. So, if it's 80* outside, 140*F is the max I like. For some, this is just warm. To me, that is hot. Don't forget, electronic components have a temperature derating factor; the hotter it gets, the less current it is rated to pass.

I run a 7s motor on 2s lipo with a 12/46 or 13/46 gear & a MM with 2.2 truck tires , & the temps are great so far.
