Lipo Cooling Station

Guys i just made a lipo cooling station. Skellyo will be posting pics shortly. It's very cheap to make & very effective, it will cut time cooling time in half . So please check back shortly for pics. I will give you all the specs when the pics are up.

What do we need pics and specs of your beer fridge for?...

That said, I do put my Nimhs in the fridge after charging them/ running them to speed up cooling process.

Man, people with maxamps packs who are trying to get the advertised spec will be lining up around the block for these cooling stations!

I use a large metal top table to cool my packs, but they never get much more than 100f and that is on a 85f day.

I have put my nimhs in the fridge, works well to cool them off. I have also put ice packs on my motors!

Never really had much of a cooling issue w/ my Lipos so far, but I baby them.

I did use refrigerated get packs on my NIMHs though.

Nimhs make good handwarmers after a run on a cold day- also useful for learning the art of juggling....

Let me know what you guys think. I made one change to my cooler. I put a u plastic channel down the middle. so the battery will be centered in the middle of the tube.

that's a "cool" idea. Do you get it? I said "cool", and it's a cooling tube. I'm so funny, seriously though, thats a good idea, and it would quickly dissipate the smoke when it explodes:lol:

$50 for 2 bits U-channel and a couple 40mm fans, a tad overpriced, yes.

I still like the mini-beer fridge idea- keep your batts & drink cool at the same time...

If you made a LiPo warmer I'd think that was cool, but a LiPo cooler, I'll just say eh?

glassdoctor 03.22.2008 12:03 PM

I have a lipo warmer ready to make and sell.... but the project kinda stalled when I got too busy with my real job and family

After viewing the chinese vs korean I will amend this post accordingly.

If you use one of those peltier devices with a compartment on each side you could have a LiPo warmer and a subC/chinese LiPo cooler in one neat package, I wonder what is more effective at cooling, a cold compartment with still air or a fan blown tube at ambient.

After viewing the chinese vs korean LiPo thread I will amend this post accordingly with a different viewpoint to that in my last.
