Need some lipo size help here

Ok guys, I need a lipo thats 85 x 31 x 18mm

Or dang close, For my 18R im going to get the novak BL system, and im going for the 8.5 turn, which is 9000 KV, so its power hungry. Any input would be good, I need the highest MAH possible, I NEED 1000 MAH plus....

So post what you guys know of!

I have found these, but there RX packs, so IDK what the C rating is on it

Try: www.hobbycity.com

They have some nice 30C batteries that fit the size.

Ok, I have another question here. How should I do this?

Buy a 8.5 (9K KV) and run 2s lipo (64,800 RPM)
Buy a 10.5 (7,300KV) and run 2s lipo (54,200 RPM)
Buy a 13.5 (6K KV) and run 3s lipo (66,600 RPM)

Which way should I do this? Im running a mini on a full size track, so it needs RPM, and from the beta testers, even the 9K KV motor runs real cool because its 380 can.... But doing a low KV, high voltage, im thinking I could get more run time off a lower MAH lipo?

I ran my Trinity N80 (7800Kv) on 3S lipos and it was great.

So maybe a 10.5 (7,300 Kv) on 3s lipo?

lutach 03.25.2008 09:58 PM

Patrick mentioned in rcgroups that the new magnets in the CM36 motors are rated for 100,000rpm. If so the 7700Kv motor is looking good for somethings I might do.

I want novaks BL system.. On road racing is sensored or no go IMO.....

And 2nd, your talking about 10th scale BL systems, I am talking for a 18th scale

This BL system

I suppose things have changed in past couple of years, I used to have a RC18 that I had a Mamba 25 esc with a 1800 3 cell and mamba 6800 motor, I did run it with larger wheels 1/10 scale sedan foams and when I would get done with a run I could start a forest fire...., I eventually fried the esc I now have the truck in my garage gathering dust

BlackedOutREVO 03.25.2008 10:16 PM

Well for one, the mamba motor is 180, or something like that

the novak is 380...... I just dont know what the RPM limit would be

My fault . That looks nice and it should be really good. The new Mamba Micro Pro will be out soon http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXURX8&P=SM. I would look into the Hyperion YC22S-6000 or the Y22L-5000 with Mamba Micro Pro should be a nice combo. If you really want 9K plus Kv motors that packs enough power to drive 10th scale, I would give the following some thought with the Sidewinder Sport: Mega ACn16/15/1 (9200Kv, 6 pole, tons of torque and power), Neu 1105/1Y (10500Kv), 1105/2D (9700Kv), 1110/1D (9200Kv). I have the YC22S-5000 right now in my MLST ad it's a blast.

lincpimp 03.25.2008 10:41 PM

I would run the lowest kv on 3s. As long as you can fit the batterys in and it does not weigh too much. I would like to see how good the novak system is. I have a feeling it will not be as good as a quark 33 with a hyperion y22 l or xl can motor. Plus the quark can handle 5s. That would be my choice for a high power mini setup. Unless neu make a small high powered motor!

BlackedOutREVO 03.25.2008 10:50 PM

Remember guys, im full on racing. Sensored is the only way to race on road! Period, I tried a MM with my current set up, and it was no where near as nice as my LRP TC Sphere, and the R1PRO cant make a start with out cogging with a 10.5, mod was OK

Id rather run on 2s, but im trying to get the smallest batt, so I can put my RX on the batt side, but 3s just gets taller, which is no problem really. Im NOT going for a speed machine, just a super fun lil racer to play with on practice days, seeing a 8 inch long car motor the F out of a gas car will be priceless LOL.... So its not tons of power, just want to try out the sick new stuff, especially when I know many many team novak drivers ;)

Modified TC they run a 3.5, or 3.0, which is around 11,000 KV..... So yeah, My bashers I agree with you guys, but in TC racing its different..

BlackedOutREVO 04.15.2008 10:46 PM

Back to this guys

I know you all as low KV, and high voltage, which I want to do, but cant choose here

Do you guys thing a TrueRC 1500MAH 3s 15C pack is enough for my application, or no? I want max performance, with a small size, a 25C high mah thunderpower pack that is tiny is 75 bucks...

A normal 6c pack is 102mm, by 30

I need it small as possible to fit my RX on the batt side so I dont have to stack the electronics on one side...

So Can anyone help me find atleast a 20C pack over 1000mah? under, or close to 85 x 31 x 18mm that doesnt cost a ton of money? 40 bucks for a little lipo is on the high side IMO

Thanks
