Al. pinions
 

Being out of order for a long time in RC-MONSTER store, I order 32P 5mm bore pinions from Finedesign RC.
However, to my surprise ,they came in anodized alum.
Anyone has experience with the pinion gears?
How do you think the durability of them?

Do they come black and with the 1.5mm grub screw?

Exactly, black with 1.5mm grub screw.

I have a few of them and I haven't shredded one yet, but I have stripped the grub screw. 1.5mm is to small, I could retap them to the next size but I'm lazy. I'm waiting for Mike to get some more.

So, the weakness is in the threads not the teeth.
Maybe, I'd better stick with HV Maxx because the 3.17mm bore pinions are much easier to get.
When will the steel pinions or the strobe slipper be in stock?
