Info on KB45 motors

So I bought a few KB45 motors and put the 10L in my gtp. It is great and runs very cool, also seems quite effecient, as the batteries and esc stay cool too.

Now, I also have the 10xl that I plan to run in my aftershock. It is a 1200kv motor, so I figured 8s would be sufficent to get the truck to the low 40mph range and keep the motor rpm below 40k. I will usr the stock 2 speed and gearing, sp 70/18 in 1st and 63/25 in 2nd.

My question is what batteries to use. I would like a pair of 4s packs, as I have a dual tray setup in this truck and others. Wondering if the flightpower 3300 25c 4s packs would be ok. They are good for 80 amps cont, and on 8s with an 80% effecient system that is 1900watts = 2.5 hp.

Now, I could step up to the 3700 packs which should be good for 3hp. I would prefer the lighter packs, but it is only about 4 oz difference between the different packs.

Yep, and the mm loves them, in my gtp the mm never gets much more than warm, and the motor barely gets above ambient temps. You should see that sucker move, no lack of power!
