mgm 16024-3 advise

hey guys looking for some help i have mgm 16024-3 esc this item will only work with the receiver pack installed to the receiver, is this the only way to run it ? i did not want to use a receiver pack. any help would be great

Either a receiver pack or external BEC; that controller has no bec built in.

the mgm 9032 that i had (now going to mgm to repair) has no bec, so it only works wit a receiver battery.

I don't know what you want that would be more helpful than that. Perhaps I misread the sarcasm in this post ?

The 16024 is an OPTO controller. It has no built in BEC. You will HAVE to use a reciever pack, or an external BEC.

Get yourself a UBEC. It hooks between your main pack and the reciever to provide power for servos, etc. Weighs nothing compared to a rx pack. The CC BEC is a good choice. It has a 3A constant and 10A peak current rating.
