1/8 scale lugnut wrench

This is probably a really easy question.

I'm working on my first 1/8 scale buggy and I can't figure out what to use to tighten the lugnuts. They're recessed enough that I can't get a regular sized socket in there. It appears that they're about 19mm. I tightened them as much as I could using the tools at hand but they almost immediately came loose under 4s power.

It's a Kyosho buggy that I bought from mwry. I'm assuming that all these 1/8 buggies probably use the same size lugnuts.

What are you guys using to tighten these buggers?

Thanks in advance!

17mm...I use this:

Mine are definitely 19mm. When they're off the buggy, they fit perfectly in a 19mm socket and are too big for a 17mm socket. I also measured the diameter at .75 in, which calculates to 19.05 mm.

Maybe mine are non-standard?

Thanks again for your help, btw.

Definitely an oddball size. 17mm is typically the standard for 1/8th scale buggies. This may work for you though:

Found the ones I have on Tower here. They came off of a Duratrax Axis roller that I bought at a pawn shop for $30.

I think I'd be better off just buying some standard 17mm lug nuts and using a standard 17mm socket.

Thanks again, Skellyo, for all your help!

Watch what you buy, as some of the threads are different. I know that hpi/hb nuts will not fit an ofna buggy. Just a heads up...

Thanks for the heads up. Any recommendations on which ones might fit a Kyosho Kanai 3 and/or Duratrax Axis?
