Savage 3spd Carnage (Pics)

Here are the pics of the tranny after a few runs with my brushless setup. Looking to go Direct Drive or center diff with a higher powered motor/outrunner.

Anything with an auto 2+ speed tranny will have a OWB. OWBs are put onto the 1st and in this case 2nd gears, so that when the 2nd and 3rd speed clutches engage those higher gears can spin the output shaft at a higher RPM than the lower gears do.

Well I plan to run DD outrunner or use a buggy center diff so that should eleiminate the problem alltoghther. Ill let you guys know what happends.

Takedown 03.30.2008 07:15 PM

And no their was nothing caught in the tranny. It was clean and ran super smooth. My guess is that some of the glitching caused this to happen...

Blunten 03.30.2008 11:30 PM

I noticed there wasnt any grease in any of the pics. Arent you suppose to grease the transmission?

Takedown 03.31.2008 09:16 PM

I cleaned out alot of it before I took the pics so you guys would be able to see the broken stuff.

MTBikerTim 03.31.2008 09:22 PM

Most of the nitro savage guys run them without or with just the lightest coating of thin grease. They run smoother and last longer that way.
