Setting Throttle Endpoints for 20 Month old Boy to Drive

Can I set throttle endpoint to be alot less travel to turn the power down without screwing up the esc heating anything up with partial throttle? I want to let my son drive my e-maxx, but want alot less power for a 20 month old boy to have....want him to learn early to drive an RC ;)

I do that quite a bit with my 5 year old - tone down my epa to 60% on my crt .5 - no ill effect that I've seen. (mm 7L 3s)

Cool he loves to drive and I just put my 3905 maxx back to stock except for lipos so I will have a waterproof rainy day RC to drive and for my son...... buliding a 2nd E-Revo with neu/mgm stuff from the maxx....:)

Austinmaxx, are your lipos waterproof?

Arct1k 03.31.2008 04:52 PM

If you are running an evx it has the training mode 50% power and just leave the end points as is...

Wow! "raining" mode eh? So I guess it's made for wet conditions?

Hummm don't know havent heard of any problems yet with water and lipos.... nimh seem fine with new waterproof max from what I see...

austinmaxx 03.31.2008 05:33 PM

Oh with a 20 month old I need less than 50% more like 25%

I was thinking it would be bad for water to get under the shrink wrap, into the pack, and stay there. It could corrode the connections between cells and whatnot...

Why not reduce the throttle using your transmitter?
