building a crt.5
please help me decide on a motor for my crt.5,i am just running on the road strickly speed!! i have the cc sidewinder esc already and i need a motor to work with it and also what battery will work best with it? please guys help me out as i have no clue and have been reading on here for months and i am ready to order?
also do i need the pinion mod? i have the motor mount and battery tray and the BCE extended chassis already, thanks guys |
Feigao 7L and 3s is fast for sure - ultimate is a quick neu 1509...
What pinion mod? if you get a motor with a 3.125mm shaft you'll need an adapter to use mike's pinions. |
Run 3s and an 8L (around 34k rpm max). This will give you plenty of power and the ability to gear up and/or use larger tires without loading the motor too much. You could even go to a 9L if you wanted.

You could try the Medusa V2 36-50-3300 on 3s. It looks perfect for the Sidewinder. Be sure to report on your findings on this motor as well. Personally I am looking foward to trying mine on the Neu 1509/1Y (3s).

what about any of the great planes ammo motors? can i run a outrunner motor? i had a duratrax vendetta 1/18 buggy i put a outrunner heli motor in it and it was a tourque monster and i could gear it up like crazy? just a thought?

These might work... Look like cheaper feigao's
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6530 Feigao got fed up apparently with hobbycity not providing any service on their motors and stopped supplying them to HC. |
i orderd that motor and a 5000mh 3cell 11.1 lipo today from them? ill let you know how it goes? do i need the 5mm pinion from rc monster to work with that motor?
|
Yes use BrianG's speed calc as it depends on tires but I think that would need about a 16T pinion
