CMS7700 Broken Shaft
I just broke the shaft on the cms7700 motor. I e-mailed the castle about getting a replacement. While I wait for a reply I Was wondering if anyone has had to replace one before and where they got the new shaft from. I was hoping to get it replaced soon. Could send the motor in to Castle but they have a 3 week back log already. Sping is here and don't want to wait till summer.
On a side note question. What motor would be a good replacement to run instead. In a rustler/stampede on 2s. Is there something else that has the speed and torque running only 2s? |
A Feigao S motor is roughly comparable, but are a little longer and the coils fill up the can more, so there is a little more torque/power for a given kv. Don't know if the "35k rpm rule" applies to the smaller Feigaos, but that's something to think about. However, since the S has more torque, you can gear up a bit to compensate.
Otherwise, maybe a 1509/1D might be a good choice. But for the price, you could just pick up another 7700 motor... |
Yeah I was at your site using the motor selector. The 1509 1d sounds good. If I get a different motor to run. I would like it to run cooler then the 7700 does and getting the same performance on 2s. Everything I run is in multiples of 2s so I didn't want to have to get a 3s just for one car. I'll do some research on the feigao s motors. Might be closer to the budget this month.

Any thoughts on which one of these might be the best on 2s? Higher KV ones? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...o+36&search=Go |
