Boat controller better than car controller!!!

yes you read good...! I bought the barracuda 80 from Mike something like 2 weeks ago or maybe more. I was in hurry to receive my MGM80 that was stop working because some water has enter in it. So, I try my Barracuda 80 from Castle creations on my matt francis.... I had nothing to lose... SO BETTER!!!! Programming the esc was so easy not like MGM and a little bit less cogging than the MGM. I was happy. in the other hand, the temperature of the esc is maybe too hot, something like 200-240ºF but there is no water colling on the 80 version... so maybe it's normal.

so... if you are planning to buy a speed control that is easy to program, accept lipo and have 80amp, take the barracuda!!! last week i receive my MGM free repair from the company. I try on my matt francis but it still not working or maybe false programming... my mgm is now a piece of s.h.i.t! maybe i will try to re-re-re-program it and it maybe work but right now i'm still happy with the barracuda 80!!!

I'm not as experienced as some other guys here but 200-240 degrees is too hot for most controlers, most people here won't run a controler past 180 degrees. I think you may have a problem there.

The MGM controllers are rated to thermal at 194F. If they go over 154F they will not re-arm if powered off, until they cool back down.
Over 200F is a VERY hot controller, but also a statement of durability to that specific controller.
