e-bay thread 2

this thread is being posted specifically for forum shenanigans. please refrain from any nonsensical posts on the e-bay tips thread, and instead post them here. an e-maxx transmission sold for $16.72 and that's why I said I got butt raped. And there was no vaseline. Just a match and a little bit of gasoline.

A reasonable reserve price would be good if you don't want to have to "give away" something.

rshoic75 and others can copy their on-toipic posts to this thread, or have a moderator clean up the other ;)

A reserve price is a big help, or start the bid at the lowest you will take (although you may get no bids if too high). I have good luck starting with a low bid and a reasonable buy it now price, about half go with the buy it now and half go with a decent bid price (sometimes more than I expected to get!).

P.S. I gave up on the other thread!

You need the reserve price or a good starting bid. I lost a pair of imex foams. They sold for 99 cents.

I have been selling and buying on ebay since 1999

#1 Lots of tag words !! People have to pull it up in a search . Put something like "traxxas emaxx tranny , not tmaxx, revo, mgt "

#2 99 percent of the time I list my auctions on saturday between 10:00 and 2:00
I know that sounds silly but I have found that when you make sure people can be around when the auction is ending it tends to go up in the last 30 seconds.

#3 Search before you list . If theres 10 already on there ,then wait to list it or price it a few dollars less then closed auctions.
I would rather sell something today for 30.00 then wait a week to sell it for 33.00 .
I look at closed auctions to get going rates . If there all selling between 40 and 60 then price accordingly . 42 sells right away, 58 might not sell. Your choice.

#4 Selling is still a job , do your research first and you will do better in the end.

If it makes you feel better I have sold stuff for WAYYYYY less then I paid for it ! DOH !!! It does happen sometimes.
Dont worry if theres no bids or it stays low . I personally never bid until the end and most of the people I know do the same.
Jerry

Good luck with that...

Para - I always try to have my auctions end in the evening, after everyone has finished dinner and at the computer. That way more potential bidders are at the computer. I usually try to end a 8pm cst, that way it is 10pm in cail and 7pm on the east coast. Plus a good description is handy, as are good pics!
