Good Lipo Balancer????
I already have a Super Brain 989 and i love it. Charges everything but it will not balance lipos. I can make a tap to charge each cell separate but that would be a pain. So my quest for a balancer is in route. I want one that can work as you charge and as a stand alone.
I found this one, although it is not on this site, but it is the only one i can find that will do everything i want. http://www.maxamps.com/MA-Method-Balancer.htm Can get every adapter to balance any lipo there is. If you can find a better one let me know. Want to stay right around 50 - 80 bucks. Thanks Nick |
K did some looking and found this.
http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...package&cat=19 It is the same as the maxamps but way cheaper. They look exactly the same. Maxamps is doing what they do best taking a product rebadge it and charge more. Now i gues my question is, Is this a good balancer and are the boards to adapt the balancer to any balancing plug??? |
I'd go hyperion lba 10 - can be got for $40
Mikes out of of stock so you could try http://b-p-p.com/proddetail.php?prod=2_LBA10 |
I would also think about upgrade plans. Most balancers are capable of up to 6s, but if you get a 7s+ pack, you won't be able to use it.
The LBA10 is rated for 6s, but does allow you to network another LBA10 for up to 12s balancing. You would have to also make Y adaptors though when networking two of them. The Thunderpower TP210 allows you to balance up to 10s. No matter which balancer you get, you can make adaptor leads (or use an adaptor already available) to make the taps from different manufactures work with it. |

That one it is then Out of Stock though. And where can i get adapters to balance all lipos with different types of balancing plugs??? I will mainly have hyperion style but may get some TP's Thanks for the help Arct1k |

I would call/write him in person. The verious connectors can be tricky to describe in written text, but sometimes a brief conversation descibing what you are trying to do clears things up quickly and makes sure you get the right parts.
I know from experience that Mike can possibly have some connectors not listed in his store. Yet another reason for a one-to-one conversation... |
Thanks BrianG I will have to email him and see what all he has. I basically just want to make adapters for any lipo out so i have it if needed. Off topic but, I DO understand binary, LOL. I am a computer programmer. Thanks Nick

lol, sounds about right! I started getting an AAS degree in electronics (technically electromechanical technology) and started working as a bench tech repairing mobos, driver circuits, etc to component level, and loved it. But as time progressed, the trend went to replacing the whole unit rather than fixing individual components (generally cheaper). I've always loved electronics and enjoy ripping them apart to see how they tick. I also used to work part-time at a local car-stereo shop repairing amps (easy once you know how they work because once you get by all the fluff, they are all the same with just different parts and different build quality), alarms, remote starts, etc. But that went away too. Eventually, I became a hobby-programmer. A "script-kiddie" really; mostly client/server javascript, ASP, SQL, etc. Now I get to do that for a living and making pretty good cash doing it! Like you, I'm always broke - I need two jobs; one for living, one for toys!
Ok, enough rambling. Back to your regularly scheduled thread... |
I like the flightpower balancers, they do 6s, or 12s with 2 of them.

I like the Astroflight Blinky. It is simple but has worked fine for me.
