brushless gearing for 3906 emaxx
Ive have a 3906 EMaxx with a Feigao 8xl and MombaMax. Ive got afew questions. 1. Should I use 32 pitch gearing or go with Mod 1 gearing?
2. What kind of slipper clutch should I use? 3. What gear ratio should I use? 4. What else do I need for the EMaxx with this setup? |
The slipper may determine the pitch. I use a strobe with mod 1 gears. Someone else will have to answer about a good ratio for that motor.
What other mods have you done? You'll need some drive train upgrades if you have not done them already. Shafts, diffs, idler gear and input shaft roll pins are known weak spots. |
I have mip cvds . I cant find a strobe slipper
|
do you have the 3905
|
No, I have a 3906. Click on my sig to see my upgrades.
For a long time I was able to use the stock slipper with associated diff ball and a heavy duty spring without any problem. That could be an option until you can find a suitable upgrade. If you want your drive train stronger I would sugeest at a minimum an aluminum diff cup with modified ring gear and steel idlers. While your tranny is open you might as well change out you input shaft roll pin. These are the most common weak spots. If you don't mind down time you could just replace/upgrade when in breaks. You may be surprised how long some weak spots can last. |
