MBX5 or XB8 ? Which is the better buggy ?

Which one would be better for a BL conversion ? I already have the MBX5 and it has the MSR truggy conversion kit on it.
Well, my brother is drooling all over it and begging for me to build it up for him to run, so today, I ran across a X-Ray XB8TQ for a good deal and bought it. I figure I'll build them both and give one to him.
My question is which one should I keep for myself ? Which one is the better buggy ?
I dont have the xray yet, so I cant do a side by side comparison.
thanks, Jerry

I say if you are going to beat the hell out of your vehicle, then stick to the Mugen. Their parts and hop ups are much more spred than the X cars, unless you live in Europe. This is my own theory, since I've had an experience with both companies. The sense of design and overall finish in the X-Ray is way better than the Mugen and it's very tough, too. The Mugen gains the upper hand when it comes to popularity and parts availability, though. I personally like the Mugen more if I were to race, BUT, if you are looking for a tough, sharp looking and something you'll forever admire, the XB8 is the one.

I dont beat them to bad, it will just be a basher with some friends . I have run x-rays in the past and love them to death, I have also run mugens "strictly onroad stuff for both " they were pretty nice also. I guess I'll have to wait till I recieve the XB8 and set them side by side. I'm just wondering which takes the BL conversions better ? Thanks for the info, Jerry

Mike made the center top mount for me and all that I have left is to mount electronics after I get my castle link in the mail..

I will be using front brakes w/ my mm esc to help take some of the pressure off of the esc

I checked out that build !! Looking great !!!

Honestly, it doesn't matter. They're both so equal in prestige and quality and performance, it's just a question of which brand your more loyal too, or who has the best tiny details, foir example X-ray's multiple patents

Well I have the mugen in my hands and it has the MSR truggy conversion. It looks fantastic !!!! I also have a kyosho inferno gt and although I have had a long history with kyosho, the mugen looks lightyears ahead in quality . I will wait to see the X-Ray but I'm sure it will be surperb !!

I prefere the Xray purely for the sexy black/silver aluminium:yipi: but they are both great buggys.

check out the new Xray XB808 buggy. Totally redisigned. Looks like it will be a killer conversion with an offset center dif like the losi 8ight which makes getting the battery weight closer to the center line easier. The new xray is due to start arriving in hobby shops in and a few days now.

I already have mine pre ordered. BTW. I vote for xray. I love mine.

I have recently converted my X-Ray XB8EC and I love it to bits. 1 tough buggy.

Jbreddawg 04.14.2008 05:37 PM

Now I cant wait to get the x-ray !!! It's in the mail and I just bought a neu motor for it also !!! Soon... soon... waiting patiently
