Neu motor question

Probably a simple question but Id much rather ask before instead of after
I just received a Neu 1515 2.5 D , what a beautiful motor !! Anyhow, no flatspot on the shaft , whats the best way to put one there ? Thanks, Jerry

Put a grinder head on your Dremel tool and be careful. That's what I did.

If you put the motor in a plastic bag you can poke the shaft thru the bag to keep debris from getting in the motor. :mdr:

Again be careful.

I use a dremel with spiral cut bit. Pretty sure a stone or cylindrical rasp will work as. Only needs to be as wide as the set screw and a millimeter or so deep.

I tape the whole motor up.. put the shaft in a vice, and file it down.. takes about 10 seconds of filing...

Hey man, you don't have to grind that shaft at all. Just use a little green locktite on it. Thats why there isn't a flat spot already on the shafts. Thats what castle creations told me.
