Capacitor Board?

I plan on making a capacitor board soon. I would like to know what influence different uf ratings would have. I currenty have six 330uf 50v caps, will that do? The continuos amp rating of the esc I will be doing about 98amps. The internal caps are 50v 220uf (not completly sure).

Thanks for all of your help.

Just wire all of them in parallel... to get 2000uf....

Just be aware that the more capacitance (and voltage) you have, the larger the initial battery hookup spark...

I've got a 10,000 uF cap on my MGM and it makes a little arc weld on the bullet connector each time I plug it in... Talk about punch! Unfortunately there's no way to get around that fact and still have the performance of a larger cap.

there is actually i used to have a resistor connected to my positive bullet connector and touch that onto the connection first to charge the cap and then connect the bullet after it worked nicely for me.

What for?...
When you building bank of Caps, most important parameter is internal resistance (L, C will play later). 98 Amps has nothing to do with your setup, otherwise none of this caps will handle this.
So, what is your goal?

You must not have seen the thread about it a month or 2 ago, and the page that appeared shortly after. http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_nospark.html

Yeah, with all the HV setups popping up, I thought we'd see more "how do I get rid of the spark" type of threads.

I just want to make a capacitor board for my upcoming hacker master car sport esc, just for more punch. Will I damage anything by using higher uf caps?

Just add one 800-1000uF 35V FM series cap.
In general should be no damage but all depends how you going to put it together.
Short wires, good connectors all what you need.

No I hadn't seen it! (smacks himself for not thinking of it first) Thanks Patrick. Also, I found out I need a 600W power supply to charge my coilgun's capacitor bank in 10 seconds!

U should have looked at my thread PedeBeater, these guys said the exact same thing....

anyways here is my capacitor board

Here is what i did last summer with my Quark 125.... It's very overkill I know, but that thing could handle ANYTHING i threw at it, massive over gearing, you name it.

It is not bad, but to achieve the goal -> there should be no connectors on the path from caps to ESC and wires should be as short as possible.
Like Zeropointbug, but with less caps :)
