Racier Revo
 

I am looking to make my E-Revo a little more race capable and give a little more of a racier look :yes:. So I am looking to buy either the Traxxas wing and sway bars or the Tekno wing and sway bars. Except both seem to be very similar except from different companies.

Anyone have preference or reasons why one is better than the other? Also, is there anything else to help make the Revo more race capable besides for these two items?

Go with the Traxxas Wing Mount its really solid and is mounted sturdier than the Tekno(I had both). But skip the traxxas wing itself, it cracked in one crash. Total crap. Stick with a proline, they last forever.

I like the Traxxas sway bars too. The tekno rear sway bars are above the shocks and get in the way of wires and such. The Traxxas rear bars are mounted in the back of the truck which at first glance looks kinda wierd, but they work great and are out of way of the electronics and such.

Anyway, thats my opinion.

BTW the sway bars re an awesome hop up. Really transforms the way it handles on the track.

I agree with jhautz on both choices. My nitro Revo had both the TRX sway bars and TRX wing mount/wing, and I was satisfied with both. The TRX wing mount lowers the location of the wing compared to the Tekno mount, and also has less flex than the Tekno mount. As for the sway bars, I (like jhautz) prefer the positioning of the TRX rear swaybar compared to Tekno's.

Paint it red, that will make it faster...

And if you paint it with a darker color red on the lower portion, and lighter on the top, the phase shift of the two shades will cause down force, but will not add drag. Plus the added speed differential between the two shades will aid in cornering speed, as well as keeping the trucl low and level over jumps. Plus most of your competition will become very scared at the sight of the truck. Just do not use red wheels, as this may cause excessive wheel speed and snapped axles (unless they are red too).

Not sure if you guys ever run on wet tracks. Spraying some nonstick cooking spray on the ties will keep the mud from building up in the tread recess. (may not work with some tires) You can also spray the bottom of the chassis and the suspension arms. It will help the dirt not to stick, and aid in cleanup.

The sad thing is that there may be some poor schlep who may follow your advice and paint the world red so they can go faster:yes:. Pam for mechanical assistance with mud. Well that is a first, how about WD-40? Whatever works I guess. If you get really high temps from your electronics you may also go ahead and cook lunch on there while you drive.:lol::rofl::lol::rofl::lol::rofl: Just messin with you Pimp. Cleanup can be a nghtmare.

Yeah, the red thing is BS.

But Pam is a great way to stop sticky mud building up on stuff. Alot of guys who do full size mudding spray pam on their tires. It really makes the difference.

Well, I finally got a chance to install the Traxxas sway bars, but the wing mount was out of stock. Also changed the front a-arms to RPM and a few other small upgrades. But I have to say that the Revo is just so much fun with the sway bars. :yes: The install wasn't too bad either after reading the instructions a couple times.

The only problem I see is that the sway bars in the back look very vulnerable during wheelies or jumps where I land too far on the back... Before, I had the rear bumper to protect the back end, but now it won't fit with the sway bars. Should I get a wheely bar? Will it fit? Or should I not even worry about the back end or about the sway bars breaking?

I have been wating a long time for the Traxxas mount , Tower now has it...I wonder if the E Revo has been holding things up at Traxxas I ordered one earlier in the week

I took the Revo out this afternoon for a real bash and jumped it quite a bit and took it on some pretty rough/bumpy places. I wasn't really worried about a rock hitting it or anything, but every time I jumped and landed just slightly on the back wheels, I cringed thinking that something will happen to the sway bars. They are still new, so I am not sure how tough they are or how they react to different landings. Any help to the above questions would be great. :yes:

Edit: Or thinking about it some more, maybe I can use the wing as a wheely bar, or protection for the sway bars...

Once you get the Traxxas wing mount it protects the sway bars pretty well and the rear bumper mounts to the wing mount for further protection. You'll see once you get it. Its a solid setup. No worries. Even without it, I havent heard of anyone tearing it up.

Dont the sway bars just make a world of diference in the handleing department. :mdr: I just love em.

Just touch the brakes in the air and the nose will drop a little, should help to stop it landing on the back end.

Oh gosh... I love being able to drive my Revo hard on pavement and not worry about rolling it.

Yah, the sway bars definitely work wonders. Just amazing seeing a big monster truck turning at full speed without flipping. :yes:

Sammus - this is exactly what I do, but often times, hitting the brakes just isn't enough, when launching off a steep jump.

Now to find out when the LHS will get it in stock...
