Neu Motor

I was wondering which neu motor would be the best for my Revo. I want to order it now so when the Monster Max comes out I will have it already. I am going to be running it off a 6C 8000mah Lipo. Does anyone have any advice on which one to get. My friend was telling me the 1515 but there is numerous ones and he aint here no more.

I presume you mean 6s - I would go 2.5D apprx 1650/1700 KV... This is what I have in my truggy to run on 6s... Onlly 4s now as using MM but it still rocks...

I run the 1515 2.5D in a Muggy on 6s, Lotsa power

Yeah My bad. Yeah I am running a 4s to right now cuz i got a MM right now. What do you think I would get for top speed with that motor and a 6s with the MMM

I've used my 1515 2.5D on 6s a bit for bashing. It can do ~45mph for a fair while (haven't used a full pack in one go, probably ~15 mins) without really needing to worry about temps, and around 50 if you gear up a bit. That was fast enough for where I've been driving, so I haven't geared up any more, but I'd be surprised if it couldn't do 60mph for a few speed runs, since temps and take off were still good.

I wouldnt go as high as 8000mah with the pack it will be too heavy, I have a Flightpower 6s 5000mah and it was more battery than I expected...I have been thinking about going down to a 4000, and remember when you go up in voltage and lower your KV motor such as the 2.5d it will increase your run times

Yeah I have a 5000 I just got in the mail from true R/c that I will probably run in it. Just waiting for the MMM. lol

I would watch that 5000mah pack from truerc in that setup. They have good packs for the money, but most run the 8000mah pack from them cuz they are only 10c and 15c cells and the bigger capacity allows more current handling. I think the 5000 cells from them are 15c which means 75A current rating for that pack. 6s in my revo with a 1515/2.5d pushes the true rc 8000 cells. The 8000 packs are good for 80A continuous so its not that much higher, but just watch them you will be pushing 15c 5000mah pack pretty hard. You will probably be fine as long as you dont go crazy with the gearing.

ANd I agree with everyone else the 1515/2.5d is a perfect motor for a high powered 6s setup. Hope you have some upgraded difs. :mdr:

Any reason why no one would use a 1512 instead of the 1515?

Trick440 04.26.2008 09:18 PM

I run the 1512 2.5d in my Revo. Its my first brushless. I went with the motor hoping it would help with longer run times. It seems to have plenty of power. I'm very happy with it.

I am getting about 30-45min run time on a True Rc 8000Mah.
