Disappearing posts?

A few replies in a couple of posts from yesterday seem to have disappeared/been deleted?

Me and stampy both have one missing from 'BMS-650mg vs. jr650' in General discussion and i had one from 'another beast from HPI' in General Nitro go missing.

Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this happening?Spooky.

Was it right gone, after you typed it? i didn't delete anything in these posts..

I too had some posts, i am sure of i replied, who are missing.. I thought it was connection error from my side..

Gustav 09.06.2005 05:32 PM

They posted all right at the time, stampy responded aswell so i know that one posted.Just noticed today they'd gone.

Just a bit mysterious that's all, there was nothing in them to warrant deleting so must have been something technical.I'm not great with computers so i have no idea what might cause it.

I was online and searching through. It came up that the servo was off line. I didn't no what to think. I thought mike had gave up the biz. I sure am glad he didn't. I would miss him and this place.

The site was upgraded just over a day ago, including the forum. It's possible, indeed probable, that some posts may have been 'lost' due to a non-complete transfer of data from one server to another.

Definitely feel free to re-post anything you feel is relevant and/or request re-posts from others on things you wanted to see.

coolhandcountry 09.06.2005 08:43 PM

that would explain somethings. Thanks batfish. I just can't remember if i posted anything. :)

Gustav 09.06.2005 08:50 PM

Yeah thanks Batfish.

I've noticed sometimes recently when it says server cannot be found/server offline(whatever it says when forum can't be accesed) it says 40 online or something similar.I always log out for a while when that happens incase it stops customers using the shop. There are never 40 in the forum when it says that so i assume it's including people in the shop.

Is this upgrade anything to do with that?Increasing capacity?

As you can tell i know nadda about computers

:L:

Batfish 09.06.2005 09:06 PM

Yep - a big part of the upgrade was to increase capacity.
:)

Hopefully we won't get those problems anymore about not being able to connect. :)

I'm no computer guru, but I suspect the site upgrade may have had something to do with it. I upgraded to hopefully avoid the errors(too much traffic for my old hosting plan, and the errors were getting annoying and frustrating for me and I am sure for everyone else). If the errors come back, I will upgrade again. Thanks for being considerate of the store, Gustav. Very much appreciated! I thought the same thing when I got the errors(nobody can shop!:(), which made the upgrade decision a no-brainer, though it costs 5 times as much as the old plan!

mt_enthusiast 09.06.2005 10:29 PM

I was seeing database connection errors. Hopefully they're in the past too.

RC-Monster Mike 09.06.2005 10:31 PM

"connection" errors is the key word. Hopefully, they are gone. The forum is definately loading faster lately.

Dafni 09.07.2005 01:37 AM

Yepp, the forum has become faster. Good thing!

The business grows, eh? I hope you'll have to upgrade again, soon ;)
