is there an 8mm pinion?

I see neus have an 8mm shaft option, and that seems like a good idea to me! are there any pinions for it???

What do you need the 8mm for?? Never seen a 5mm Neu have a problem.

Yes, stock drive products sell a decent selection of mod1 gears with 8mm bore. They are not hardened though. Seems like they have most even sizes from 16t and up. They actually have a better selection in 8mm bore than 6mm bore, which sucks as the jb45 motors that I like have 6mm shafts. Oh well...

I don't really think I NEED it, but it can't hurt, right? Besides, I dunno, I've never had BL anything besides my micro t, but something tells me that motor shaft is going to see A LOT of stress in my muggy when it hits the bmx trail!!

5mm shaft will be fine in a muggy. there are guys running a 3.2mm and they last for a while without snapping. never heard of a 5mm snapping.

I thought the same thing when I saw it for the first time........

it doesn't hurt to have it, but 5mm is plenty, and you have more options... now if you run direct drive, then you might... but 8mm is over kill, but that's GOOD... :)

But if you live in Canada, do not order for SDP-SI, because brokerage will be a killer....
try a $40 brokerage on a $12 pinion...

lincpimp, where did you find them? I searched all over that site and couldn't find them!

When you get into the online store, select metric at the top of the list, then go to spur gears, then to hub gears. It should open up another window next to the list. Scroll over and select 8 for the bore size, and then select hub with set screw. That should give you them all. make sure you select metric, as the site defaults to sae.
