Nice. Are you going to race it? I'm interested to know what they're like, because I've been considering getting a 4wd buggy so I have a second class to race at my track. The kyosho is higher on the list of choices than some others, because I don't want saddle packs. Some of the others a belt driven as well, but I'm not sure which is better.
Which batteries you going to use?

DickyT 04.26.2008 02:38 AM

I will bash it mostly but may try my hand at racing, or at least a practice night or two. I will be running 2s 4000mah and 3s 5000mah max amps lipos.

I almost walked out of my LHS with a b44 today, but the saddle packs were the deciding factor. I already have the other batteries with less than 10 cycles on them.

It's worth having a go at racing a car like that, it's what they're best at. 4wd buggies have pretty impressive handling on the track, plus they put the power down better than the 2wds.

I have owned a few 4wd buggies over the last 5 years - XXX4, XXX4G+, BJ4 & B44. Was looking at trying one of these out aswell

how much did that set ya back there dicky?

DickyT 04.27.2008 11:04 AM

The buggy + the spares I have lister was $420 shipped. I have the rest of the electronics and batteries already. Batteries was the only reason I did not walk out of the LHS with an AE B44. I did not want to buy saddle packs when I already have perfectly fine batteries.

man i thought that was a little cheaper than that, looking for a competition buggy myself

Patrick 04.29.2008 09:15 AM

His is the kit, racing version. The rtr versions are a bit cheaper.

big greg 04.29.2008 09:38 AM

figured the kits would be a little cheaper less the electroics, but then again the racing version

DickyT 04.29.2008 10:13 AM

The kit come hopped up already, the known issues have been dealt with, the suspension is completely different geometry from the rtr, higher grade materials are used, it is not uncommon for the high end kit to cost more than the rtr.

yea i geuss i wasnt thinking, ive been looking around and found that out

DickyT 04.30.2008 12:38 PM

The kit just showed up! I am at work and can not start the building, but looking through the parts trees this is quite the little buggy! It will need some sanding to smooth edges where I cut parts from the trees and the instructions are mostly in japanese, but I can live with that. it has very detailed pictures and exploded views.

Some of the translations for the little english it has are funny. "Make sure you are looking at the round side of the ball" lol

big greg 04.30.2008 04:21 PM

Lol, I was taking a drink when I read that and almost spewed it out! I never new balls had sides, much less non-round ones...
