If you 8ight is a buggy you may want to get the 1512/2.5D as its less weight and less $$$. In a Truggy the you would most likely want the larger 1515/xx motor.

Just my 2 cents....

i am waiting to see what castle releases with the monster max.. supposed to be similiar

RPM per Volt or KV....

1512/1.5D 3300 KV
1512/2.5D 2050 KV

not trying to hijack the thread, but I was looking at the BBY link JFruge has and the hobby store has some RC Hydros and the one they have at the top of the page was a model of the a hydro a local radio station when I lived in the Seattle area. It was known as the Miss Rock, Hydro racing is a very popular event during Seafair. The Miss Rock made news if it finished a race...it always seemed it would run into problems and would be laying dead in the water...the Miss Bud usually won every year.....man that brought back memories

so would 3000kvs be to much to run in that buggy, guy is gonna give me a great deal!

big greg 05.03.2008 11:31 PM

or would a 1515 2.5d be better?

you could get the 1.5d and if it becomes too out of control for your application you could gear down, in an off road appication you may never have the chance to get the buggy over 40 mph without losing control, I would get the 2.5d

well the guy is selling this one on rctech, would this do good in my revo? i got an 8xl i could do in the buggy, buy how would this fare in the revo, with mm on 4s?

are you refering to the 1515/2.5d that motor would be a bit slow with 4s I am going to run that in mine with 6s, it has a kv value of 1650, in your revo I would either run a 1515/1y(2200 KV) or a if you want more speed the 1515/1.5d (2700kv). The 1.5d it is rated @120 amps which is approaching the limit of the advertised limit of the MM, since the 1.5d is a faster motor it will pull more amps than the 1y and you will have a slightly reduced run time probubly about a total of 15mins
