DX3R abd nechanical reverse

Hey I got my DX3R in like last week and I cant figure out how to get my mechanical reverse to work. Is it even possible?

I'm sure it is since that radio has more advanced features than the DX3/3.0 and those can do it (the DX3 requires a mod tho). I don't have that radio but CH3 might currently be set to momentary so it will only engage as long as you hold the button. But, you should be able to set it to latched (or whatever Spektrum calls it) so that it stays engaged after you release the ch3 button and only goes back when you press it again.

Ok cool. I just cant figure out how to do it. Might just have to wait till my buddy comes back from rnr to show me. Thanx for help

Well, until then, try this:

From page 6 of the manual, the forward-most switch near the steering wheel is the CH3 switch, and is default to linear mode. Linear travel is where the servo moves only as long as the button is held down. Don't know if you want this, or latched operation where the button press puts activates reverse until it is pushed again and returns to forward gear.

Page 29 explains how to reprogram the switch to "Aux 2P", which is probably what you want. "Aux 3P" would be if you had some type of tranny where there were three gear positions. You don't want this. While you're there, you can even reprogram those three switches to be different if you want.

Then, it should just be a matter of adjusting the EPA and trim settings of CH3 to get the servo to move like you want.

Be careful though. The reverse gears in the Revo are notoriously weak. If the truck is still rolling even a little when you engage reverse, you will most likely strip the gears. This is why the Optidrive is there; to prevent reverse from being engaged until the truck is stopped.

If you insist on keeping this type of reverse and strip the gears, I believe Robinson Racing has the steel version of these gears. Even then, it's not healthy to be switching between F and R while in motion.

Hope this helped even though I have no idea what I'm talking about!

thanks for the help man. I just looked in box for the manual and i think i left it on the flight line so im gunna have to grab it tomorrow. I did notice when i would play with that button while monitoring the controller my ax would move but its not like a button its like a trim and i would have to hold that little button either forward or reverse for it to move and yet it still would move rather slow. There is deffinently somethin im doing wrong i will have to look it up tomorrow. Thanx for the help man :)

Yup, that's the linear action. Change it to "Aux 2p" and you should be golden. Of course, you'll have to play with the EPA/trim to get the servo throw just right, but that's easy.

And since you're obviously online, you can print out the manual (or just the relevant pages) until you get the real manual. I'm curious how it works for you...

Ok cool I just downloaded the manual off spektrum so hopefully i can figure it out. This is the first 2.4ghz rado i have had and its probably the most advanced piece of technology i have, lol. No im just kidding but there seems like there is so much you can do with it. Thanx for help again
