E-revo
I am going to buy a E-Revo when it comes out and I having trouble deciding what motor and battery combination I want to use. Im going to get the Mamaba Monster and I am going to use maxamps cells. From what I understand the E-revo has 2 battery trays that arnt very big so i was thinking of getting either 2 8000mah 7.4v or 2 5000mah 11.1v. The 11.1 would be lighter. I have no idea on how to wire them together and what the amp draw would be with them. I think I have to decided to go with the neu 1515/1Y with the 2 7.4v and either the 1515/2D or 1515/2.5d on the 2 11.1v. I am looking to be able to go over 45mph with a good amount run time and not be 2 heavy. Also any help on how to wire the battery's would be very much appreciated.

Hay welcome to the club MaxRevo..
Here are two examples of wiring (Series and Parallel) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2406.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2671.jpg If I have this correct?? (sorry it late!) :oops:Series will provide you with more power but les run times IE (2) 2s 5400mAH would equal 4s 5400mAH Again if I have this correct?? (sorry it later!) Parolee would provide you with 2s 10,800mah (IE) longer run times.. 8000mAh are huge!! I have no idea if they will fit inside the E-Revo trays.. When I saw the beast the RCX expo it looked like 5000Mah would fit??? You might want to call Traxxas (1-888-872-9927) and ask them what is the biggest Lipo you can squeeze in there is (just a thought) You also might want to consider these upgrades as well?? http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...flmrvdf&cat=44 http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...TKR1013&cat=44 http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...RX5333R&cat=44 http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...coupler&cat=44 http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...0e44341af7ef3f Post pics when you get your baby.. I hope this helps?? Have a great day |
So what will give me the most run time and power. The 2 7.4v 8000mah on a 1515/1y or 2 11.1v 5000mah on a 1515/2.5d both ran in series.

Also the 11.1v 5000 and the 7.4v 8000 are really close to the same size.
7.4v 8000 137x44x26 at 365g and 11.1v 5000 138x45x26 at 345g Im thinking 6 cells would be best but I don't know much about what diffences in current draw will do besides heat. And im wondering what the diffeneces in run time would be. |
I confirmed with the Traxxas rep at RCX that a 3s 5000 or 2s 8000 pack will fit.

Check out the link below, it allows you to customize your setup (Spur, Pinion, Voltage, etc) this should help you a lot in your quest for a happy medium. http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_top_speed.html The 1515.1y is a 4s motor, http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...0e44341af7ef3f The 1515 2.5d is 5s motor. http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...0e44341af7ef3f If you want to run 6s (with no heat or Voltage issues) you may need to look at either the 1515 1.5y or 1515 3d http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...0e44341af7ef3f Hope that helps?? Have a great one.. |
Hay Jnev..
Do you want to get together this weekend and bash our EVO's?? I don’t know where you live in So-Cal?? but may be worth the drive for us. We can bring our ramps and I'll bring the Video cam (just a thought)
