Another Dead Monster

my monster came in on may 8th....i got notice from CC that it was shipped out on the 5th, so i'm assuming 1st batch...anyways, today i finally got to put the plugs on (6.5mm CC bullets....deans plug), and checked and double checked all my connections b/c of the dead monsters showing up here i was a little paranoid and actually triple checked my connections.....anyways, i hooked it up and it was the most bada$$ 2min. my 8ight-t has ever seen....then suddenly the truggy stopped...no power....no castle link.....NOTHING!!!! :gasp: :diablo: ...ahhhhhhh.....at least i got one coming from mike and hopefully its from the second batch
by the way my setup was in an 8ight-t Neu 1515 1/yf 5s 8000mah truerc lipo
this sucks........:diablo:

Unlucky to hear mate, hopefully CC works out what is wrong

Hope

Well I sure hope that Patrick is watching and reading all of these problems and realizing that they have some issues to work out. At the very least I would think that he might stop by and let us know that they are looking into the issues to find a solution. I know that this could have devistating consiquences for CC and that they will do whatever they can to accomodate their customers, but this may end up a financial disaster for them. Where are you Patrick?

sleebus.jones 05.12.2008 08:53 AM

Wow Jerry, drama much?

To me the failure rate still doesnt seem to be that high, YET. I'm sure just about every failure is being posted on some board somewhere, but the sucessfully running ones are still the far majority.

I'm not daying that there isnt a potentail problem here, but I wouldnt get a doom and gloom either. Of course mine is working well so far so I guess my perspective might change If I had gotten a bad unit.

DickyT 05.12.2008 09:51 AM

Sorry to hear it's dead. I feel your pain. they will get us taken care of at least! this is not Quark after all. lol

hootie7159 05.12.2008 11:36 AM

hey DickT.... when you plug a battery into your monster does the reciever turn on?.....wen i plug my batt in the reciever doesn't power on, the fan doesn't turn, and the castle link won't recognize my monster.....when i put my mamba max back in the receiver powered up, Castle link recognized it and it ran smoothly....are these similair to your problems with your monster?

Guys,

We are looking into this. Seems the BEC chip is failing in some manner. We have not yet gotten any failed units back for a post-mortum, but we will keep everyone informed about our progress on diagnosis.

dezfan 05.12.2008 01:43 PM

All I needed to hear. :yipi:

I'm sure that Castle will get it squared away ASAP.

So far today from tech support...

Four total call-ins for tech support with a "dead" monster.

So it doesn't look like epidemic proportions, but we'll keep tracking it closely!

DickyT 05.12.2008 04:29 PM

4 calls in on the opening Monday after "release weekend" is not too bad.

I hope it's not an epidemic for you guys and just a few bad seeds.

Could the external CCBEC be used on the Monster? It in itself has been very reliable, at least for the short term.

Wasn't there something like 50 - 60 units for the 1st batch? Some probably are still sitting in the box as haven't had time or still waiting on parts to arrive
