Emaxx 3905 gearing ?
So I have an Emaxx and a Medusa 36-60-2000 v2 coming. I don't have a clue where to start my gearing.Could someone give me any ideas,PLEASE?I'll be running with a mmesc and 4s,till I can get a mmm.I'd love to buy everything from 15-25,but at 12 bucks a piece that would get a little costly.I'm looking for 40+ mph and usually don't run in thick grass.
no idea how to compare, but the Bigmaximum 4 pole 2300kv is at home at 15-17 / 52.
It's my understanding that it should be comparable to a Neu 1512 2.5d motor.I don't know if that will help someone help me or not.
I would use BrianG's top speed estimator and gear for about 40 mph. I will be trying the same motor but the 1500 kv version and gear for 40-45 on 6s. Probably about a 1:2.7 gear ratio on the pinion/spur.
Well it said 28/68 gets me to 40.So I got the only 2 he had.A 26 and a 18.I'll be able to get some different spurs to try and fine tune.
Asheck, I'm running a 1512/2.5D neu on a 24t pinion/68t spur on 5s A123(very close to 4s Lipo) and should be right in the 40mph range. The speed calc says 33mph but a bushnell radar gun said 42mph, through grass. It dosen't take much tire expansion to add quite a bit of speed to the top end.
Where did you find the 36-50-2000v2? I would have loved to have saved the 100+ extra bones I spent on the Neu |
Well thats good to know that maybe I can expect more then the speed calculator says.I bought it at rchover.com.I was going to order another today ,but they are out of stock.
I have had too many issues with that supplier to order from them. I hope you have better luck then I did!
No luck at all.I called to verify and they said they were wrong they did not have that motor in stock.I called Medusa and they told me that they are expecting a shipment in the next couple weeks, but it would probably go to dealer b.o.So I cancelled my order and will find something else.Probably just go with the 50.
I bought the medusa 1500kv to run on 6s, they shipped it out today. It would supply the speed and power you want.
I'm actually thinking the 50-3300 .I don't really want to have to go 6s to reach 40,and I think the 1500 would really need at least 5 to pull some descent rpm's.
The 36-50-3300 does very well on 4s lipo(5s A123) and a 15t pinion. I bought the 3.2mm shaft version so I could use standard $4 pinions.
So would you say that geared for 40mph, on 4s it would still be able to run under 160* or so.
