hi guys, just wondering if i want to brushless a XT8 Truggy(TOTALLY STOCK), what Neu Motor(1515 1y/F???) and gear(5mm bore, mod 1) should i get??? well, i'm going to use 16 to 18 cell Orion Ni-MH battery only, will use one of these ESC---MMM, MM, or MGM 16018, or if you guys got any other suggestions??? pls, really need advice here....BTW, i'm from Hong Kong and here GOT NO INFO, ADVICE, OR ANYONE THAT COULD HELP ME!!! so, i hope that anyone of you will be able to help me...............THANKS, AND BEST REGARDS!

The 1515/2d will work well. Bot sure on gearing as I don't have the truck. But you can use this to get an idea:

Imo, 12 Nimh's are too heavy for a racer. 16-18 would be ridiculously heavy.

Well, 14 cells weighs about 2lbs, so 16-18 would be pushing nearly three pounds in weight, and think about how much space all those cells take up; can barely squeeze them into a Gmaxx chassis, so no chance getting them into a truggy, unless you went with something like GlassDoctor's setup that is being sold by Caster....

if you are going to go with a Nimh setup equal to a 4s lipo setup you could go with a 1515/1y and a MM, if you have any future plans of 5 or 6s going with the MMM is smart, especially since a MMM isnt that much more expensive than a MM...also go with MOD 1 gearing

well, i do got the green:yipi:, but i reaaly don't want to get near to any Lipo cause i heard too many brow up case since they came out:surprised: and the main reason is that my wife won't let me get near anything like that cause of our little baby girl:angel:!!!!!! anyway, weight won't be my issue cause i ain't racing at all:oh: and i already measured the 18 cell battery and that will fit on the side of my XT8, but will take up all the space and i think i can live with that:tongue: also, i already got a MM and if i'm not able to get the MMM, i'm thinking about the MGM 16018 or the Monster Pro Quark 125B...also, i think that i'll get a 5mm bore, mod 1 14t pinion gear....and i'm just wondering should i get the Tekno RC ED Neu 1515 1y/F or just the normal 1515???? so, if that's my case, what do you guys think??? thanks! BTW, what's that GlassDoctor's setup???

Dont fear lipos- if you can afford them and a decent charger, then go for it (they dont blow up unless you male a very serious effort to kill them deliberately).

I like the new tekno rc edition neus, but personally I would prefer a smooth can motor for more gearing options & space.

look at a123 no fire risk a little heavier than lipo but equivalent performance...

I think the fire issues with lipos are WAY overrated...if you pay attention to what you are doing you wont have any problems.....I have been running Lipos for about 3 yrs now and I havnt had any problems....if you see a pack is getting puffy dispose of it.......forget about the money and try to salvage the pack
