Got a Modded new style Emaxx coming in need advise on gearing and batteries
Hey all,
I got a newer style Emaxx coming in that is pretty loaded. Anyway, I have to use 4S max per RC Pro Series rules, and need to be able to make 25 minutes for a main, preferrably 30 if possible. I have heard that a MT doesn't put as much load on an ESC like a 1/8 scale buggy, so figure maybe this means you don't need as insane batteries. Anyway, here are my questions: 1. I am looking to do a 2000 or 2200Kv motor, what pinion gears should I go with to get race level speeds (say 40mph and lower like my 1/8 scale buggy) on 4S? 2. What are the max battery dimensions that can fit in the emaxx? (height needed too just in case in the future do 3S packs) 3. Are the pinion types for the Emaxx 32 pitch (confirming here) 4. Are there mod1 spur gears for the Emaxx that you can use and if so, what pinion range is needed for them as well as what you have to do to mount them up? Most likely I will use my current Mamba Max ESC that is modded for this setup on 4S that was in my 1/8 scale already. Thanks! |
You were lied to, an MT weighs more than a 1/8 buggy in most cases, especially if its loaded with aftermarket parts (metal im guessing) and has typical MT sized tires, so you will be needing some good batteries.
1. http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_top_speed.html to find your gearing 2. not sure, refer to the main traxxas site to find dimensions for the battery trays. 3. yes. 4. Revo spurs will fit the 3905 slipper, but refer to the calc to determine gearing on 4s lipo and ~2000kv motor. 30 mins will probably need either large capacity true rc/ maxamps cells (8000mah?), or something like 25c enerland based cells (5000mah?). |
What is the smallest pinion you can use on the Revo spur gear?
