40T Revo spur gear in new style Emaxx, what pinions reach?
Hi,
Looking to put a Revo mod1 40T spur gear in a newer style emaxx, but I am not sure what pinions will reach ( using a Neu 1512 2.5D/F Motor). What is the smallest pinion that anyone has used that will reach. Or, if this won't work and I need a bigger gear, are there other options out there for a larger spur that will work on a stock newer style emaxx? (I read MGT, but can't see the pic someone posted). If you know what the lowest pinion that will reach for the 40T revo spur, as well as the MGT spurs that can be made to work please post. |
The 40t spur is a bit too small for the Emaxx/E revo's. I don't think the pinions will reach. I know the associated Mgt plastic spurs (mod-1) will fit the bolt pattern, you might can drill them to set in the slipper like the traxxas gears. i know the MGT spurs are close in size to the traxxas Emaxx/E-revo spur size

pretty much the same question I asked. I have a 16tooth on the way, its biggest I could find. I will try it with any of the emaxx/Jato spurs to try to get it to fit. I am thinking that with finned cans like ours the motor itself limits travel. That is going to be the limiting factor. No answer on whether or not the single motor mount has more adjustment either.

single mount doesnt have any extra travel! To use a 40t spur you'd need like 30t pinion, LOL, but seriously it won't work. If you want mod1 ur only option is the MGT gears. I did the mod but have went back to 32p gears because there are more options and the spurs are cheaper than pinion gears!

Imo 32p does the job. mod1 is for the old guys that can't see very well, so they can set the mesh.
