Hacker C50 Maxx "VS" Medusa 36-60 2000kv V2
I was just wondering which one is better quality. Im guessing the medusa is better. I also want to know which one will preform better in a 1/8 truggy. I know their a 2-4 pole difference but I want to know which one will overall proform better. BTW I will be using the 5mm shaft upgrade from hacker for the c50 if that makes it more fair.

The medusa is smaller in diameter, as the case is not finned. The hacker's larger diameter may cause some fitment and gearing issues. Power wise I think they are similar. The medusa may be more effecient due to the lower kv. Plus the medusa may make more torque. Plus I know you intend to use 5s, so the medusa would be the best choice. Build quality is similar, the hacker may be nicer looking and have better exterior finish, but that does not matter for performance.

I agree with lincpimp.

But its $50! Hmmmm... Ill probably end up getting the hacker for now. If I dont like it the medusa is definately next on my list.

is the medusa suitable for running in an e-aftershock on 5s2p A123, with MMM esc? i read on the other thread about people using one, or thinking about using one in a converted savage, but i think that my truck is going to be a bit heavier.

Depends on ones expectations. It will power the truck no problem, will it push it to the speed you want with the torque your looking for is the question. My E-maxx(3905) ran on a Hacker C40-8L but wasn't very strong over ~25mph, it's a brute with either a Medusa 36-50-3300 or Neu 1512/2.5D when geared for 33mph but the extra length of the Neu is noticable if I gear for 40+mph speeds. I think I would go to at least a 1515 or maybe even a 1521 in a truck that is expected to be heavier than a Sav. JMHO |
